Lori Van Dusen, CIMA®, Founder and CEO of LVW Advisors, and Kim Pugliese, LVW’s COO and Managing Partner, were invited to lead a workshop on “The Role of a COO” at the 8th Annual RIA West Investment Forum in Marina del Rey last week.
The session highlighted the importance of owners, when hiring a COO, stepping away from day-to-day administration and focusing on the activities that led them to establish the business initially, and to the activities they typically excel to ensure the COO can be successful in executing their role. Lori and Kim started with a brief presentation which quickly led to a lively discussion and many great questions. Workshop attendees also provided a lot of positive feedback on the presentation!
Joseph Zappia, who sits on the RIA Advisory Board with Lori, also moderated a very dynamic panel discussion at RIA West focused on “Active Management vs. Indexing vs. Direct Indexing.” The RIA Institute puts on three private annual forums designed to present content created ‘by RIAs, for RIAs.’ It is considered a premier conference for leaders in the RIA market.
