
Richard Van Kuren, CFA®

Rick Van Kuren is a senior partner and original member of LVW Advisors. He has more than 30 years of strategic investment experience, with a current focus on foundations, endowments and pension plans. Working with clients, Rick develops strategic asset allocation, selects managers and implements client portfolios. He is also a voting member of LVW’s Investment Committee.
A frequent speaker at conferences across the country, Rick received his Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2001. He is a member of the CFA® Institute (formerly AIMR) and the Rochester Society of Security Analysts. Rick was honored with the Association of Professional Investment Consultants’ Pat Nicholson Award for excellence in investment analysis in 1998 and 2001. No fees were paid in relation to these awards.
After completing his undergraduate degree at SUNY Fredonia, Rick worked at Elias Asset Management. Prior to coming to LVW Advisors from Convergent Wealth Advisors, he spent more than a decade with Lori Van Dusen at Citigroup Institutional Consulting.
As an energetic supporter of the Rochester community, Rick serves on the board of Sojourner Home at Wilson Commencement Park—an organization that provides critical services to women experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and poverty. Rick, a husband and father to three children, enjoys making craft wines—and has been known to host the occasional tasting.
